LOS ANGELES, California, Oct. 11, 2019 — “Global Citizen” featured some of his first works as an artist amongst recent trips and productions. Los Angeles based photographer Phillip Silverstein gave friends and fans a long awaited preview of a few of his favorite pieces at Exhibit A Gallery on S. Fairfax last Friday. The Preview featured 16 works from Chile, Japan, Dubai, Paris, Hong Kong, Thailand, New York, and California. The artist has traveled to 47 countries and is currently photographing refugee camps outside of Amman, Jordan with plans to visit the ancient city of Petra and Wadi Rum before departing to Israel.

Silverstein has been a California resident since 2013, when he moved back to the states after a stint playing football in Milan, Italy, sparking his curiosity of global travel. Originally from South Carolina, he always dreamed of being able to see the world. His work speaks for itself, highlighting the beauty of remote and exotic destinations as well as portraying familiar cityscapes in a new, refreshing, light.

Moving from San Diego to Los Angeles mid 2018, Silverstein has already made a significant mark in the Los Angeles photography scene, capturing many breathtaking images of the Venice Canals, Hollywood Sign, Santa Monica Pier, and Downtown LA.

Scaling a 60 story building and sitting on the edge of the roof or hanging out of the side of an open-doored helicopter to capture an image are a few of the extreme measurers Silverstein goes to deliver unique perspectives.

“F A C A D E S,” an image of the side of the Hollywood Sign at golden hour, captured via helicopter, was displayed next to a Blacks Beach sunbather and a stunning palm tree lined sunset image over Downtown Los Angeles.

“These images create and help me maintain momentum in life. They give me something to look forward to everyday and unlock the world in ways I could have never imagined, connecting me to amazing people and opening doors to unforgettable places. I hope my photos inspire you to get out of your comfort zone and try something you wouldn’t normally do otherwise, because as an athlete, I would have never thought I could be a photographer, until the day picked up a camera,” said Silverstein.

The collection together transports you from one side of the world to the other in an instant and helps you to see the world as Phillip does, in a positively optimistic light. “Life is beautiful, and if you are looking for the beauty of what’s out there, you will find it and see the world as such,” he said to visitors at the exhibit.

His works tell tales of beauty amongst the madness, showcasing stunning sunsets and city scenes, creating and sharing stories through his lens that everyone can relate to. Exquisite imagery portrayed in high end finishings make a quick getaway for any home or office. Phillip’s works are offered for purchase on his website phillipsilverstein.com/xxl and also in San Diego at Alexander Salazar Fine Art. He said he is working on finding a new Los Angeles gallery to call home and can be contacted at fineart@phillipsilverstein.com for art pricing and availability.
